MEDIA ADVISORY Events: SLCC Celebrates Black History Month Salt Lake Community College is celebrating Black History this month with a series of events to encourage learning, reflection, and community. To learn more visit SLCC’s Student Engagement, Experience and Achievement website. The public is welcome to all the events, two of the most popular include the following. EVENT: African American Read-In & Black Student Union Annual Poetry Slam Hosted by SLCC’s Black Student Union and Student Writing and Reading Center, the event showcases Black culture through Black literature. The Poetry Slam welcomes volunteers to read written works and traditional poetry written by black artists. To contribute, interested participants should fill out this form .
